A total of 1,235 students attended the Affirmative Action Program (AAP) re-orientation conducted by the Diversity and Inclusion Unit of Bukidnon State University (BukSU) on February 19, 2025, at the university gymnasium.
The activity aimed to provide essential program information to grantees.
AAP caters aspiring students who demonstrate academic potential in their chosen program, particularly those from special populations, including Indigenous Peoples, working students, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
BukSU currently has over 1,800 enrolled students under the AAP program from first year to third year.
AAP Coordinator Louie L. Laurilla led the re-orientation session, which covered program guidelines, progress monitoring, and other key components. The session aimed to provide grantees with a clear understanding of program expectations and requirements.
Dr. Mariza P. Manlagaylay, the Director of BUkSU’s Institutional Student Programs and Services, addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of persistence and academic achievement.
During the event, 90 AAP grantees received Certificates of Recognition for their academic performance. The session concluded with remarks from Dr. Lora E. Añar, Director of the Student Welfare and Engagement Unit, who urged students to remain focused on their goals. (Jorvenna Grace M. Dueñas, ISPS Staff)
