Objectives
COVID-19 Initiative

As COVID-19 wreaked havoc in nearly every country on earth, there has also been a mass circulation of falsehoods that have spread as fast as the virus itself. To address this “infodemic,” the OVPREIA led the Bukidnon State University Bayanihan Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Initiative Kontra COVID-19 Pandemic. This initiative was in partnership with the City Government of Malayblay. Since access to reliable information is critical in this time of crisis, BukSU conducted an IEC program with two components:

Component 1: DXBU COVID-19 Special Coverage

The DXBU programs Morning Sunshine and Binukid-On-Air will have a COVID-19 special coverage.  The aim of the special coverage is to provide a platform to discuss pertinent COVID-19 topics such as:

  1. Relevant national and local legislation or issuances
  2. Health care in the COVID-19 pandemic
  3. Mental health and psychosocial support during crisis
  4. Other relevant topics/issues/concerns identified via research on social media and other sources
Component 2: COVID-19 Infographics and Radio Plugs

COVID-19 infographics and radio plugs were developed for dissemination in the City of Malaybalay and social media.
