QAO holds virtual training and newly-hired personnel orientation

MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS) The Quality Assurance Office held a virtual training on Risk Based Thinking (RBT) and Risk, Opportunities Analysis, Action Plan (ROAAP) Preparation for university stakeholders and organized a quality assurance orientation to 70 newly hired personnel of the university in February 2022.

The QAO hosted  the Virtual Conduct of Risk Based Thinking (RBT) and ROAAP Preparation on  February 4, 2022.  The training was meant to establish in-depth understanding of the Risk-based Thinking (RBT) concept and related ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

It was also organized to train the participants in accomplishing and utilizing the ROAAP; and to enhance the current approach in evaluating the effectiveness of the actions taken to address risks and opportunities. Units heads and designated faculty attended the training with Engr. Antonio P. Santos, an external quality management expert, as resource speaker.

Engr. Santos emphasized the role of RBT in Planning for the QMS and how to integrate the ROAAP’s actions into the QMS processes.

One of the outputs of the virtual training was the updated ROAAP.

The office also spearheded the orientation of a total 70 newly hired faculty members and non-teaching personnel from the main campus on February 16, 2022.

The virtual orientation focused on orientation on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Institutional Sustainability Assessment (ISA), the Accrediting Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP) and other QA mechanisms.

The orientation aimed mainly to share the key procedures involved in the different quality assurance mechanisms and impart the different learning experiences along with it.

It also aimed to answer pertinent questions on enhancing quality services.

The Quality Assurance Office continue to facilitate the different activities to enhance and to provide quality programs to the students and be efficient and effective through quality systems. (Dr. Iris April L. Ramirez/QAO)
