The said activity as to strengthen the connection and support for the welfare and success of the BukSU Damulog students.

It also aimed to ask for the support of the parents as well as the stakeholders in every school activity that will help the students improve their skills, talents, and well-being.

There were around 120 attendees which composed of faculty and staff, parents and guardians, some students and student leaders and also with the presence of the Chairman of the Committee on Education, Rep. Melvin Buro.

He also encouraged the parents, guardians and students to help promote the campus so that we can have an increase of enrollment for the following school years.

Rep. Melvin Buro also inspired the participants when he expressed that the campus will have full support in all it endeavors.

Ms. Isabel Dakina, the BSBA Program Head, delivered her talk regarding bridging the gap, inter-satellite activities, On-the-Job Training for the 4th year students and other planned activities that would help the students be prepared for their future careers.

Mrs. Cherry Mae Icat, the BPA Program Head, discussed about the Student Support Services which include the career and job placement, health services, DRRM, multi-faith services, sports and socio-cultural, research development and extension, GAD, campus publication, and guidance services.

With all those updates and discussions, the parents and other attendees weren’t able to notice the time. They were all attentive and supportive as it was clearly shown in their nods and smiles on their faces.

In continuation of the program, Dr. Arnel introduced the student leaders under the Student Body Organization, Junior Financial Management Council and Public Administration Society.

The SBO Governor, Mr. Kyle Kevin Felizardo, then presented their upcoming activities and also the contribution to be paid in the different organizations including the PTA fee.

In the latter part of the program, there was supposed to be an election of officers for the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) yet we ran out of time. The parents and guardians agreed that the campus administration will be the one to appoint the PTA Officers for the SY 2022-2023.

The activity was a success because at the end of the program there was an increase of academic motivation, social-emotional growth and learning, sense of personal responsibility and a reduced engagement in a variety of high-risk behaviors.

The BukSU Damulog faculty and staff were glad that after 2 long years, they got to meet the students’ parents and guardians face to face and were able to talk on the plans and activities set for the welfare and success of the whole studentry. (Dr. Arnel V. Bangis/Damulog SC)
