The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) of Bukidnon State University held a Seminar Workshop titled “TOBE THRIVE: Sustaining Transformation via GamefyED for Student-Engagement” which aimed to enhance the university’s technology integrators’ skills on gamification within BukSULearn.
Held at the university’s Annex A campus at Casisang, Malaybalay City, the seminar-workshop commenced with an insightful presentation by Dr. Cecille Marie T. Improgo, the CITL Director. Dr. Improgo delved into Transformational Outcomes-Based Education (TOBE), setting the tone for an intellectually stimulating seminar-workshop.
Following this, Mr. John Dale Belderol, CITL technology integration consultant, presented the fundamentals of GamefyED in Education. His talk provided a comprehensive exploration of the role of GamefyED in enhancing student engagement and learning experiences.
It was then followed by a workshop, where participants engaged in designing a simple GamefyED element. This interactive session fostered collaboration and creativity among the attendees.
In the afternoon, the session focused on the creation of GamefyED assessments and strategies for ensuring the sustainability of GamefyED approaches. The theoretical insights were complemented by another workshop, allowing participants to apply the acquired knowledge in practical scenarios.
The culmination of the seminar-workshop featured a comprehensive wrap-up and closing remarks by Dr. Maricel R. Inovejas, the Program Chair of the Instructional Design and Development (IDD) program. Dr. Inovejas provided a summary of the key takeaways from the day’s sessions and expressed gratitude to the participants, speakers, and organizers for their active involvement.
The TOBE THRIVE Seminar Workshop proved to be a dynamic platform for educators and professionals to explore and implement innovative approaches in education.
