To demonstrate the spirit of volunteerism and a commitment to environmental stewardship, the personnel of Bukidnon State University (BukSU) came together to tend the flora around the main campus as part of the observance of “Make a Difference Day for Sustainability” on October 25, 2023.
During the “Plant Care and Sustainability Initiative,” BukSU personnel undertook a range of tasks, including watering, pruning, and nourishing the plants within the campus grounds.
“This initiative is centered on maintaining and enhancing our green spaces, promoting biodiversity, and practicing sustainable landscaping. It involves the dedicated care of our campus flora to create a sustainable university environment that instills a deeper appreciation for nature and a reduced ecological footprint,” said BukSU President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol.
This year marks BukSU’s inaugural participation in this global movement, with a distinctive focus on environmental preservation that is aligned with the university’s goal of “Green University.”
