MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS) The Quality Assurance Office described as a “big success” the university’s recent submission of a program for assessment by the Accrediting Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP).
“The three-day accreditation ended with a big success due to full support of the administration headed by Dr. Oscar B. Cabañelez,” according to a statement from the QAO.
A three-member AACCUP team composed of Dr. Sanjay P. Claudio, Dr. Ronnie R. Parica, and Dr. Liza M. Tamargo did the Level III-Phase 2 online accreditation process for the Master’s in Public Administration program on January 26 to 28, 2022.
Ms. Psyche T. Malabo, Director for the QAO, led the local accreditation team with the College of Administration dean, Dr. Lalevie B. Lubos and the program coordinator, Dr. Lorenzo B. Dinlayan III.
Ms. Malabo said the university now awaits the release of the official results from AACCUP. According to a statement from QAO, the university embarked on this unique journey of online accreditation to see the development of its service to the academic community.
“Because of that, we make sure that quality in the academic services we offer must be of standard and at par with the best universities in the Philippines,” said Dr Iris April D. Ramirez, a QAO coordinator.
As of 2021, seven of BukSU’s undergraduate academic programs have obtained Level IV status: Bachelor of Elementary Teacher Education, Secondary Teacher Education (Bilogical Science, English, Filipino, Mathematics, and Social Studies), Bachelor of Arts in English Language, Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.
One of the university’s graduate programs have also obtained Level IV status – the Master of Arts in Education Major in Mathematics, Education Major in Mathemetics Teaching, English Language Teaching, Educational Administraiton, Guidance and Counselling, and General Science Education.
