BukSU Graduate Places Top 5 in March 2025 LEPT

BukSU outperforms national averages in both elementary and secondary levels.

Ferdiliza U. Cadungog, a 24-year-old graduate of Bukidnon State University’s (BukSU) College of Education (COE), secured the 5th spot in the March 2025 Philippine Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), earning a rating of 93 percent.

A consistent honor student since her early school years, Cadungog completed her degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies as a cum laude. She described the board exam experience as both challenging and humbling.

“I didn’t know all the answers, but I gave my best and entrusted the rest to the Lord,” she said.

When the results were released this May, Cadungog was overwhelmed with gratitude—not just for herself, but especially for her mother. Raised in the hinterland village of Mt. Nebo, Valencia City, she grew up witnessing the sacrifices her mother made to support her education.

“She’s my inspiration,” Cadungog shared. “Every time I receive recognition; it’s my mother’s happiness that fulfills me the most.”

Her decision to become a teacher stem from a desire to inspire others—just as her former teachers once inspired her.

“I want to become a teacher who inspires, the same way my teachers inspired me,” she said. “I know I won’t be a teacher forever to my students, but I hope they will always remember the impact I can impart to their lives.”

BukSU Sustains Strong Performance in LEPT

Cadungog’s success is a source of pride not only for her family, but also for BukSU, which continues to demonstrate its strength in teacher education.

In the recent LEPT, BukSU posted a 100% passing rate for first-time takers in the Elementary Level and an 89.36% passing rate in the Secondary Level.

BukSU President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol lauded the COE and its faculty for their consistent excellence.

“Congratulations to the COE and faculty for the successful LEPT. Your dedication in preparing future educators is truly inspiring. I am proud of you. To God be the glory,” said Mirasol.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission, only 16,282 elementary teachers out of 34,810 examinees passed (46.77% national passing rate), and 38,747 secondary teachers out of 62,225 examinees passed (62.27% national passing rate).
