BukSU IT Faculty Member presents AI Research on Higher Education in China

Dr. Rozanne Tuesday G. Flores a faculty member of the Information Technology Department, Program Chair on Student Mobility of the International Affairs and Linkages Unit, and University Student Internship Coordinator, recently represented Bukidnon State University at the 5th ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory (ASEF InnoLab5) on October 21 – 27, 2024, at Fudan University in Shanghai, China.

Dr. Flores delivered her insights on “Shaping IA Governance in Higher Education: Challenges and Opportunities” on Day 3 of the international forum. She investigated the equilibrium between the evolving global education landscape and the preservation of institutional integrity. Her presentation sparked discussions on the effective development of policies by higher education institutions to promote transparency, innovation, and quality education, while simultaneously confronting inherent challenges such as regulatory compliance, digital transformation, and academic autonomy.

Dr. Flores contributed her expertise in digital pedagogy and innovative curriculum design by working with over 50 delegates from 31 countries and top institutions. Throughout the week-long event, participants engaged in workshops, collaborative sessions, and discussions on addressing the pressing challenges facing higher education today.

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) is an intergovernmental not-for-profit organization located at Singapore that promotes understanding, strengthens relationships and facilitates cooperation among the people, institutions and organizations of Asia and Europe. ASEFInnoLab5 is a comprehensive 9-week learning and networking initiative scheduled from 02 May to 27 June 2024 (conducted online via Zoom) and from 21 to 27 October 2024 (held onsite in China).

Dr. Flores is committed to creating a learning environment that is prepared for the future, and she plans to use the knowledge she received from ASEF Innolab to develop initiatives inside her school when she returns.
