Bukidnon State University (BukSU) Automotive Technology Department (ATD) has entered into a partnership with North-Min Auto Dealership Inc., an authorized dealer of Isuzu Motors, and the LCG Group of Companies to provide students with enhanced internship opportunities. Formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on October 2, 2024, in Cagayan de Oro City.
This collaboration aims to offer BukSU Automotive students valuable hands-on training and professional development in the automotive industry.
The MOA outlined that both North-Min Auto Dealership and LCG Group will design structured, outcome-based training programs in response to the evolving demands of the automotive industry, aiming to bridge the skills gap between academic instruction and the practical requirements of the field.
“By partnering with Isuzu Motors and the LCG Group of Companies, BukSU students will gain exposure to practical, real-world experiences that complement their academic learning. The agreement also aims to prepare students for the challenges of the automotive industry, helping develop skilled and globally competitive graduates,” said BukSU ATD Chairperson, Dr. Rene M. Chavez.
“BukSU will ensure that students are workplace-ready, while the partner companies will provide a safe and supportive learning environment, with industry professionals supervising students throughout their internships. The agreement also underscores the importance of student safety, particularly in compliance with health and safety regulations,” Chavez added.
Set to last for five years with automatic renewal, these partnerships are expected to enhance the professional readiness of BukSU students while supporting the broader goals of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to strengthen internship programs nationwide.
