Alumni from various batches of Bukidnon State University’s (BukSU) Alubijid Campus in Misamis Oriental gathered for their first-ever Grand Alumni Homecoming on September 28, 2024, at Alubijid National Comprehensive High School.
“This historic event brings together alumni from various batches to reconnect, celebrate, and honor the enduring legacy of BukSU-Alubijid,” said Campus Head Dr. Cheryll M. Sabaldana.
One of the alumni in attendance was Dr. Roie Ubay-Ubay, the Department of Education Provincial School District Supervisor for Laguindingan, MisOr.
“If it weren’t for BukSU Alubijid Campus, I wouldn’t have accomplished what I have today,” said Ubay-Ubay.
The homecoming event coincided with BukSU’s centennial anniversary and the 43rd anniversary of its Alubijid campus, which was established in 1981 as the Bukidnon State College-Alubijid External Studies. Among BukSU’s 16 satellite campuses, the Alubijid Campus is the oldest.
“You could have chosen to enroll in other schools or universities, but you chose BukSU. I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason—it was no accident that you pursued and earned your degree here. You are part of the BukSU story,” said BukSU Alumni Relation Unit Head Ms. Katrina Faith M. Melig.
Aside from the Alubijid Campus, other BukSU campuses are also expected to hold their respective homecoming activities, with the main campus’ Grand Alumni Homecoming scheduled in December. (Angelica Aldovino, BukSU Alubijid Faculty Member)
