
Third-year students and faculty members from the Information Technology Department of Bukidnon State University (BukSU) participated in a training workshop aimed at enhancing research skills in Natural Language Processing (NLP), held on September 25 and October 2, 2024.
The workshop introduced participants to the fundamentals of NLP, covering key concepts and practical applications. Participants gained hands-on experience in Supervised Machine Learning, focusing on text classification and sentiment analysis. Advanced topics, such as Unsupervised Learning and Topic Modeling, were also discussed, demonstrating how to extract themes from unstructured data. Additionally, the training provided guidance on conducting NLP-based research, equipping participants with valuable techniques for their capstone projects and academic studies.
Through this event, BukSU strengthened its commitment to advancing research capabilities in NLP, fostering academic collaboration, and preparing students for the evolving field of IT.
