Bukidnon State University’s (BukSU) Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) gathered for orientation and writeshop for its members on August 28, 2024 at the 4th Floor Research and Extension Building.
The orientation of CODI members and revisiting the CODI Policy Writeshop was organized by the BukSU-Gender and Development (BukSU-GAD) Resource Center.
The orientation provides CODI members with a more in-depth knowledge of the committee members’ functions from the key provisions of the Guidelines on Gender-Based Sexual Harassment in Higher Education Institutions (CHED Memorandum Order No. 3 series of 2022), Anti-Sexual Harassment Act (RA 7877) and the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313). Additionally, members are provided with an overview of the CODI Policy and learn about Policy Review and Analysis.
Ms. Rosanna S. Generato, CODI Chairperson/Chief Administrative Officer for Administration, emphasized the main role of the university in upholding safe and respectful environment for everyone in the campus, and freeing the university to any form of gender-based sexual harassment.
“Our commitment to this cause is adherence to various laws and regulations,” she said.
Dr. Marichu B. Montecillo, CODI Member/BukSU-GAD Director, provided the salient features of RA 7877.
Mr. Ivan Heinrich A. Villanueva, CODI Member/BukSU Faculty Regent, shared the key points of RA 11313.
Following the orientation was the presentation of enhanced CODI policy provisions to strengthen the policies. Mr. Mark Gene Salga, Legal Officer II, on behalf of Atty. Heinz Guderian Villanueva shared the Policy on Gender-Based Sexual Harassment and the Establishment of the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) of Bukidnon State University.
