Bukidnon State University (BukSU) officially launched its brand logo during the President’s Day on February 14, 2024, at the BukSU Mini Theater.
The brand logo, designed by senior Information Technology student Mr. John Dexter M. Gamo, will serve as the primary visual representation of the university’s public relations and community engagement efforts.
In the logo, the colors red, yellow, and black patterned as beads in the b-u-k letters paid homage to Bukidnon’s rich cultural heritage. These color combinations not only celebrated the unique cultural identity of Bukidnon but also emphasized the unity in the community’s diversity. It showcased BukSU as a place where diverse cultural backgrounds unite to create a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.
The circuit pattern integrated into the letter ‘S’ signified the university’s commitment to innovation and technology through the SMART BukSU initiative.
“[The circuit pattern] reflected the institution’s forward-thinking approach to education, navigating through technological advancements to enhance learning experiences and prepare students for the modern world,” Gamo said.
The logo takes the shape of a shield, symbolizing resiliency.
“Education is a shield, a person’s defense against the tribulations of life and this symbolized BukSU’s commitment to providing a strong and resilient educational foundation for its students, empowering them to face life’s challenges with knowledge and confidence,” Gamo added.
Blue dominated as a visual identifier, creating a cohesive and recognizable brand identity for BukSU. This communicated its commitment to academic excellence, ethical conduct, and reliability in delivering quality education, making it a strategic and meaningful color identifier for BukSU.
The BukSU brand logo symbolizes the institution’s journey, combining tradition, technological innovation, and cultural pride- an inspiration from the sacred University Seal, reflecting the vision and mission. It communicated a vision of a forward-looking university deeply rooted in its heritage, ready to face future challenges while honoring the past.
BukSU will soon release a guidebook on the usage of the logo, along with other brand identities of the university.
