Bukidnon State University (BukSU) officials, headed by University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, attended Congress Committee Hearings dedicated to deliberating the budget allocation for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) for the fiscal year 2024.
On October 02, the BukSU Team attended the Senate Committee on Finance Hearing at the Senate, Pasay City. The hearing was presided over by Senator Pia Cayetano, where the 114 SUCs all over the country proposed a total budget allocation of P100.8 billion.
On September 18 and 21, BukSU attended the pre-plenary and plenary budget hearings of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations at the Batasang Pambansa Complex.
BukSU submitted a total budget allocation of P886.5 million, which is an increase of 7% from the university’s 2023 National Expenditures Program of P826.7.
“Our priority is infrastructure development for our main, annex, and satellite campuses,” said Dr. Mirasol
The BukSU Officials also seized the opportunity to meet with legislators Bukidnon 2nd District Representative Hon. Atty. Jonathan Keith T. Flores, Bukidnon 4th District Representative Hon. Laarni Lavin Roque, and Misamis Oriental 1st District Representative Hon. Christian S. Unabia. BukSU also visited Senate President, Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri who expressed his full support for the programs and projects of BukSU.
