MALAYBALAY CITY – Bukidnon State University Information Technology Department got the Cisco CCNA Switching Routing and Wireless Essentials (SRWE) Accreditation after two IT faculties, Mr. Peter Joseph G. Rabanes and Mr. Raul D. Lecaros successfully completed the 5-day training at the Holy Angel University on June 5 to 9, 2023.
The Cisco Networking Academy Philippines facilitated the said training. The Cisco CCNA certification was globally recognized as a benchmark for networking professionals.
Achieving this accreditation demonstrated the IT Faculty’s dedication to staying at the forefront of industry advancements. The training program covered essential topics such as advanced Local Area Network (LAN) switching technologies, IP routing technologies, LAN security technologies and wireless LANs.
Mr. Lecaros said that having done the said training in a face-to-face setup was a different experience compared to learning it remotely. He added that the hands-on activities with actual devices was a big factor in really understanding the content of this course.
The accreditation not only enhanced the expertise of the IT Faculty but also benefited the students of BukSU as the IT Department geared on integrating this to its BSIT curriculum specifically on the Networking 2 subject offering.
Mr. Rabanes said that the Cisco Networking Academy has been very instrumental to their curriculum development, and that the integration of Cisco SRWE to their subject offering would surely make the students more competent once they earn their degree and find a job later on. BukSU was thrilled to celebrate this achievement and looked forward to further strengthening its IT program to produce highly skilled professionals who can make significant contributions to the ever-evolving field of information technology.
