MALAYBALAY CITY – Students and other stakeholders with payment transactions with Bukidnon State University can now pay via an online mechanism under Land Bank of the Philippines’ Link.BizPortal.
Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, BukSU Officer-in-charge and Ms. Madelyn A. Rodriguez, LBP Malaybalay-Highway Branch Manager signed the memorandum of agreement for “We access pass-through account.” It is an agreement opening a pass-through account so that BukSU will soon be the one to download the salaries of its employees’ account, enabling the effectivity of the online payment scheme as an added feature in the university’s services.
Atty. Estevez said this is making payments more accessible for BukSU’s stakeholders. He said this is a realization of plans in the previous administration. Now, students and other BukSU stakeholders need not queue at the Cashier’s Office to pay for their transactions with the university.
Ms. Wilma L. Gregory, BukSU Chief Administrative Officer for Finance; Ms. Katherine P. Bandas, Head of BukSU Accounting Office, and Ms. Eunice E. Melliston, Head of BukSU Cashier’s Office, and other university officials witnessed the launching at the Office of the University President.
Ms. Rodriguez said the ePayment channel is inclusive as it can facilitate transactions using cash in accounts from other banks and payment portals like Gcash, Paymaya, among others.
LBP has packaged the channel as “safe, secure, and easy”. According to landbank.com, the portal aims to provide convenience and efficiency to all involved institutions as well as safer and faster delivery of funds. It also seeks to decrease the direct and indirect costs associated with physical cash or distribution of in-kind goods. The portal also seeks to establish accountability and tracking of financial flows, resulting in less corruption and theft; and de-clog lobby traffic and save on operation costs.
The service can handle small and large value payments, generate and issues online payment confirmation which may be printed or sent through e-mail, as applicable, and is available seven days a week, including holidays, except during system maintenance.
A payor only needs to visit the LBP website (www.landbank.com) and click on the Link.BizPortal to do the transaction. The BukSU Cashier’s Office advised students and other payors to familiarize with the portal and prepare the correct information before clicking final commands. They also reminded the public to avoid transacting in between the 11p.m. to 1a.m. daily clearing period to ensure smooth transactions.
