MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS) Student leaders from the Public Administration Society of the Bukidnon State University Satellite Campus provided food packs for 100 children from a barangay in Kalilangan, Bukidnon as part of their community involvement.
The project, organized to help intensify health and nutrition among the children of Barangay Public, Kalilangan Bukidnon, was held on April 10, 2022 with the theme: “Filling little stomachs as a language of love and practice of civic responsibility.”
Mr. Sulpicio Velasco, BPA Program Head, said they reached out to children who were severely malnourished among the children of the barangay.
Ms. Cheryl C. Hawi-an, a faculty member of the program, said the activity was successful especially in providing joy from the faces of the children. As part of the event, the children participated in games.
The program management organized the event in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Kalilangan through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and the parents/guardians of the children. The campus obtained local government approval and parents’ consent. To ensure everyone’s safety, organizers also checked vaccination cards, health temperatures, and health declaration.
