As part of the university’s celebration of the 2021 National Women’s Month, the Gender and Development Unit conducted a virtual event entitled Women’s History and Heroes: A Symposium on Her Story and How She Rose. The activity celebrated the vibrant history of women empowerment at the global, national and local level. The guest speaker was Ms. Charisse “Chang” Jordan, UN Women National Project Coordinator for the Philippines Safe and Fair Project. Ms. Jordan shared the milestones in women empowerment and the stories of women in the contemporary world, especially during the pandemic.
