The Bukidnon State University- Automotive Technology Department (BukSU-ATD) has produced 30 first-time takers of graduates who passed the Automotive Servicing National Certificate I (NC I) assessment, resulting in a perfect 100% passing rate. The assessment was conducted over three days, from January 15 to 17, 2025.
“This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the students, as well as the institution’s unwavering commitment to providing high-quality technical and professional education,” said ATD Head Dr. Rene M. Chavez.
The certification process was administered by the TESDA-accredited institution, B89 Technical Vocational Academy, located in Pal-ing, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
“Students were evaluated on various aspects of automotive servicing, including perform pre-delivery inspection, perform periodic maintenance of automotive engine, perform periodic maintenance of drive train, perform periodic maintenance of brake system, perform periodic maintenance of suspension system, and perform periodic maintenance of steering system,” Chavez added.
The three-day assessment rigorously tested both practical and theoretical knowledge, ensuring that the students met industry standards.
The Automotive Servicing NC I qualification consists of competencies that a person must achieve to perform pre-delivery inspection and periodic maintenance of automotive parts and components.
According to TESDA, a person who has achieved this qualification is competent to be a pre-delivery inspector/check lister, periodic maintenance personnel/staff, periodic maintenance associate, junior technician, maintenance technician, and auto–service personnel.
