






Bringing pride to Bukidnon State University (BukSU), student leaders bagged 11 awards at the Unyon Mindanao Confederation Year-End Summit held on April 11, 2026, in Davao City, under the theme “Crowned on the Ground.”
Among the major recognitions, the BukSU Local Chapter secured 3rd Most Outstanding Local Chapter and was named Most Exemplary Local Chapter in STRAWnger Mindanao 2.0. The chapter also placed 3rd in both the Most Outstanding Local Chapter Committee for Campaigns and Advocacy and Publicity and Multimedia.
On the individual level, student leaders likewise brought home honors. Karl Barete was named 2nd Most Outstanding Ambassador, while Van Fergus Dumalahay earned 2nd Most Outstanding Deputy Ambassador. Lian Carl Viloria received the Mindanao Presidential Award: Gawad Bantayog (Gold), followed by Dom Juario with Gawad Dayaw (Silver), and Ray Johan Dinogan with Gawad Alab (Bronze).
Completing the list of awardees, John Brooze Sagayan was recognized as Outstanding Local Chapter Committee Officer for Campaigns and Advocacy, and Jay Fernandez Sios-e as Distinguished Local Chapter Officer for Outstanding Sectoral Ambassador.
The Unyon ng mga Estudyante sa Mindanao (UNYON), also known as the Mindanao Confederation of College and University Student Governments, is a premier formation of student governments in the region. Now in its fourth year, the organization serves as an active alliance of student councils across Mindanao.
