Bukidnon State University (BukSU) underwent the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) 3rd Survey Accreditation Online Visit, a three-day intensive evaluation held on April 15 to 17, 2026, for seven undergraduate and graduate programs of arts and sciences, public administration, and education offered in the main campus.
AACCUP is the primary organization responsible for the accreditation of curricular programs in the Philippines, particularly for state universities and colleges (SUCs).
As evidenced by the survey visit, AACCUP’s role was to ensure that academic programs meet or exceed national benchmarks for quality education, provide steadfast guidance to institutions like BukSU, to promote continuous improvement and accountability, and conduct evaluations to validate that an institution is fulfilling its mandate to educate, innovate, and lead.
The evaluation process was structured through a thorough inspection of documents and interviews with stakeholders. These specialized sessions allow the AACCUP accreditors to collaborate closely with the local task forces, faculty, and students of each specific program.
Individual sessions are organized for each under review: Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Physical Education, Master of Business Administration, Doctor of Public Administration, Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration, and Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education, major in Mathematics.
University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol addressed the AACCUP team, emphasizing that the university’s preparations were a genuine commitment to growth, improvement, and accountability. She urged the BukSU community to remain teachable, welcoming the insights of the accreditors with open minds to not only meet but exceed educational standards.
“We come into this survey visit prepared and ready, having worked diligently in the months leading up to this moment. More than compliance, our preparations reflect our genuine commitment to growth, improvement, and accountability.”
“As we come prepared, let us remain teachable as we welcome our accreditors with open arms and open minds,” Mirasol added.
Mirasol expressed gratitude to the faculty, staff, and the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) for their tireless efforts in reaching this moment of readiness and confidence. “With hearts full of gratitude, we thank everyone who made this journey possible: our dedicated faculty, hardworking staff, supportive Quality Assurance Unit, and our students who continue to inspire us to do better each day”.

Towards the last day, Mirasol expressed her words of commitment by reminding that the AACCUP journey of BukSU is a transition from paper and rules to mission and heart.
“As we wrap up this three-day accreditation, we are reminded of what Purposeful Progress is: a journey marked by intention, strengthened by discipline, and sustained by unity. Everything we have documented, every system we have improved, and every effort we have shared speaks to our desire not only to comply but to grow and serve better…As one BukSU family, we achieve progress not by chance but by purpose.” Mirasol expressed.
The university now awaits the formal results of the survey, prepared to implement any recommendations as part of its ongoing journey toward becoming a premier institution for sustainable development. (BukSU- Information Unit)
