Research outputs from Bukidnon State University (BukSU) earned top ranks in multiple categories at the 2nd Northern Mindanao Research and Innovation Summit – LAMBIGIT 2025, held April 24–25 at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP).
LAMBIGIT 2025, organized under the theme “Advancing Social Innovation for Inclusive Growth,” brought together faculty-researchers, innovation professionals, and institutional representatives from across Northern Mindanao.
Participants included state and local universities and colleges (SUCs and LUCs), private higher education institutions, and partner agencies from the public and private sectors.
BukSU participated in the oral research presentation competitions, securing placements in several thematic categories. The following entries received awards:
First Place: Jan Daniel P. Ching for “HEI Teachers’ E-xperiences in the Use of Digital Tools for Teaching and Learning: Basis for Debugging” under Innovative Teaching and Learning
Second Place: Dr. Hazel Jean M. Abejuela for “Flexible Learning System Implementation in Philippine Higher Education Institutions” under Innovative Teaching and Learning

Through its participation in the summit, BukSU presented academic and technological outputs aligned with various institutional and community-based research efforts from the region.
Beyond the paper presentations, BukSU participated in the INNOHUB Booth Exhibition, where it presented food technologies developed by its Food Technology faculty. These included the Spanish-style Tofu, a ready-to-eat, plant-based protein product, and Binaki in a Jar, a shelf-stable version of Bukidnon’s traditional corn-based delicacy.
The summit, named after the Bisaya term lambigit, which translates to “to engage or draw together,” was co-hosted by BukSU in collaboration with USTP and other institutions. The event provided space for academic institutions and stakeholders to present current research and facilitate discussions across education, innovation, and regional development.
USTP System President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, in his address, discussed the role of innovation practices grounded in sustainability and driven by collaboration.
“For only by moving forward can we achieve this dream; if it is driven by innovation grounded in sustainability and empowered by collaboration, we can secure a brighter, more inclusive, and more resilient Northern Mindanao,” said Cultura.
