BukSU IT Students Demonstrate Advanced ICT Proficiency in 2024 TOPCIT

Fifty Information Technology students at Bukidnon State University (BukSU) earned Competency Levels in the Test of Practical Competency in Information and Communication Technology (TOPCIT), conducted on November 19, 2024.

Fifty Information Technology students at Bukidnon State University (BukSU) earned Competency Levels in the Test of Practical Competency in Information and Communication Technology (TOPCIT), conducted on November 19, 2024.

The results, released on January 2, 2025, revealed that 20 BukSU students successfully achieved Competency Level 2, demonstrating advanced proficiency in ICT, while the remaining 30 earned Competency Level 1, signifying foundational ICT skills.

In addition, three students stood out for their exceptional performance, earning top spots among BukSU examinees:

  • Aubie Bryne Hallazgo
  • James Cyrel Culibar
  • Sedrick James Camiguing

The exam was conducted simultaneously with other universities and colleges across the Philippines, with 50 third-year BSIT students from BukSU participating.

TOPCIT is a globally recognized assessment designed to evaluate students’ practical skills and competencies in Information and Communication Technology. To ensure optimal performance, BukSU provided a training orientation for the students before the exam, focusing on key topics such as programming, database management, and system analysis.
