Bukidnon State University (BukSU) made strides in future-proofing its research initiatives by actively participating in the Training-Workshop on Designing Future-Proof and Future-Ready Research for High-Impact Journal Publications from October 7-9, 2024, at the Goldberry Lite Hotel, Iloilo City.
Organized by the Asian Society of Teachers for Research, the event aimed to equip researchers with innovative approaches to producing globally competitive academic outputs.
The workshop covered topics reshaping the future of academic research, particularly with the integration of cutting-edge technologies. Key sessions included Integrating Concepts of Future-Proofing and Future-Readiness to the Research Process, highlighting the need for research to anticipate and adapt to future challenges, ensuring its relevance and impact over time.
An Introduction to Generative AI in Future-Proof and Future-Ready Research was introduced to use generative AI in enhancing research processes. The session on Utilizing Generative AI in Conceptualization, Literature Review, Hypothesis Development, Methods, and Scientific Writing explored how AI can streamline the entire research process, from idea generation to publishing publishable papers.
The Standards of Scopus and Clarivate Analytics in Determining a Publishable Paper were discussed, focusing on the criteria that top journals use when evaluating research for publication, particularly those indexed in Scopus and Clarivate Analytics.
BukSU was represented by Information Technology faculty members, including Mr. Raul Lecaros and Mr. Louie Jay Labastida from the College of Technologies; Hospitality Management faculty member Mr. John Michael Jamis from the College of Business, and Business Administration Department faculty members Dr. Rosita Quibra and Ms. Regie C. Medidas.
The workshop was also attended by participants from various educational institutions across the Philippines.
