Bukidnon State University (BukSU) recently underwent a five-day virtual accreditation evaluation (September 16-20, 2024) by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. This evaluation aimed to achieve Level I accreditation for two graduate programs: the Master of Arts in English Language and the Master of Arts in Sociology.
“Accreditation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality and improvement,” remarked Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, SMART BukSU President, during the opening program. “It challenges us to set even higher standards for our future and ensures that our students receive a world-class education that equips them for success.”
Dr. Hazel Jean M. Abejuela, BukSU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, expressed optimism about both programs achieving Level I accreditation. She noted that while the undergraduate counterparts have already attained the highest level of accreditation, the graduate programs are still relatively new. The MAEL program was established in 2016 and has since produced excellent graduates. Despite facing challenges, the MA in Sociology has also demonstrated its quality through its graduates’ achievements.
“Today’s accreditation survey visit is an opportunity for both programs to showcase their strengths and identify areas for improvement,” Abejuela added. “By continuously striving for excellence, we can ensure that our graduates are highly qualified and prepared to make a significant impact in their communities.”
