Bukidnon State University Ranked 7th in 2024 PADS Innovative Awards for Higher Education

Bukidnon State University (BukSU) has bagged 7th place among higher education institutions (HEIs) in the 2024 Commission on Higher Education (CHED)-Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS) Innovative Awards for Higher Education during the awarding ceremony in Quezon City on May 17.

BukSU is recognized for “implementing a comprehensive and innovative Drug Education and Prevention Program in compliance with Executive Order No. 66, Series of 2018, or institutionalizing the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy for a drug-free educational institution and a drug-free Philippines.”

The award criteria included drug prevention policies, programs, and projects; anti-illegal drugs extension or outreach services; and anti-illegal drugs-related research.

Thirty-four HEIs from across the country competed for a spot in the Top 10.

“As every institution succeeds and we document their success, they not only serve as examples for the others, but it encourages them to do more,” said CHED Chairman, J. Prospero De Vera III.

Established in 2018, PADS directs all government agencies, including state universities and colleges, to implement anti-illegal drug strategies through projects and programs in accordance with their respective mandates. (BukSU-Information Unit)
