Bukidnon State University underwent an on-site evaluation of its Master’s and Doctoral programs in Public Administration aimed at securing a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on March 12, 2024.
These graduate programs are the last two programs at BukSU to attain COPC before the university pursues recognition as a Level IV AACCUP-accredited institution.
The Master in Public Administration (MPA) and Doctor in Public Administration (DPA) are under the College of Public Administration and Governance.
A team of evaluators from the CHED Central Office, including Dr. Sanjay P. Claudio, Dr. Roselle A. Jardin, Mr. Noel Antonio Paz, and Mr. Daryl Glenn B. Pamplona, scrutinized various aspects of the programs. These included eligibility, program level, types, outcomes, curriculum, and faculty profiles of the MPA and DPA in comparison to their practices.
The evaluation looked into the strengths and areas for improvement, with the panel offering recommendations based on their findings.
MPA and DPA have been offered at the university since the 1980s, providing diplomas for aspiring government servants, government officials in the local government, managers and consultants in private companies, and scholars of the discipline.
Technical Evaluator Dr. Sanjay P. Claudio recommended the issuance of COPC for approval.
“Recommended for issuance of COPC by the Technical Panel subject for submission to commission en banc for approval,” Dr. Claudio said.
