The Development Communication in cooperation with the Community Development, Center for Peace Studies and International Affairs and Linkages Unit successfully conducted the Marshall McLuhan Forum Series on Responsible Media on November 29, 2023, at the BukSU Theatre.
The forum kicked off with a morning session, the guest speaker, Ms. Karmina Constantino, a distinguished news anchor from ANC, delved into the realities of press freedom in the Philippines. The event was participated by the students from Development Communication, Community Development, English Language, BukSU-Secondary Laboratory School, and Bukidnon National Highschool.
“This is not for me, it’s not about me. This is for the country. This is for my people” emphasized by Ms. Karmina Constantino when asked about the reason behind her bravery in interviewing politicians.
The McLuhan Forum Series’ Responsible Media edition was a great success, offering a forum for enlightening discussions and contemplations on the moral implications of media in the digital era. Inspired by the event, the participants obtained deeper understanding of responsible media behavior. In terms of the future, the series laid the groundwork for continued discussions and projects aimed at encouraging moral and responsible media behavior. (Development Communication Department, CAS)
