MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS) The BukSU Gender and Development Unit spearheaded the celebration of the 2021 National Women’s Month Celebration with the theme “We make Change Work for Women – Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!”. The unit scheduled numerous activities that intended to highlight the extraordinary roles of women in the society as forerunners of change.
The unit launched a radio program on March 3, 2021 in pursuit of its commitment towards advancing gender equality and promoting women empowerment.
The unit spearheaded the first GAD radio program in the province entitled Thanks GAD, I’m Fine: A BukSU-GAD Initiative which airs in the university’s radio station, dxBU 104.5, every Wednesday 8:30-9:00 a.m. Another major activity is the month-long Online Exhibit for Women with Significant Contribution in the society.
Featured in the exhibit were the following leaders:

Paluga, Dr. Erika Fille Tupas Legara, Amirah Ali Lidasan, Nemesia Padilla Babanto, RN, Dr. Ellen N. Delante-Cabahug, Dr. Neonita Dagasuan Danao, Vicenta Tadiar Flores and Hon. Juliette T. Uy.

Aside from the exhibit, the other activities for the month are virtual forums for faculty and staff, contests for students, and wellness programs for women in the workplace.
Dr. Marichu Montecillo, BukSU GAD Focal Person said the unit stands that COVID-19 pandemic will not hinder its advocacy.
