MALAYBALAY CITY (May 23) A total of 25 students of Bukidnon State University’s BS Automotive Technology program have passed the National Competency 1 and 2 exams for automotive servicing under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
The students took the exams in two separate assessment centers this summer.
The first set, a group of 17 on going students, took the competency exams in St. Therese Institute of Technical Education, Inc. (STITEI) in Kidapawan City on May 2-5, 2018. Mr. Rene Chavez, AT instructor, said all 17 successfully passed the exams.
The institute also issued to the College of Social Development and Technology an achievement award certificate for the 100 percent passing rate in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.
The passers were identified as: Jezer S. Petarco, Rier Clyde A. Paulite, Raymart D. Silangon, Conselle Angelo L. Aljas, Carlo James E. Lausa, Jomarie B. Ibias, Adrian Britz C. Alacapa, Aljun B. The graduates took the NC1 exam before the Cagayan de Oro-based DATS Technical School and the NC2 exam with the Crossroad Training Institute, Inc, also in CDO, which serves as the KIA Training Center and the first industry-based automotive technical school in Mindanao.
The BS-AT graduates-passers were identified as John Paul A. Justol, Elbert John L. Doydora, Arbe M. Carreon, Jorlex A. Madjos, Mark Robintor G. Dongogan, Frank Jay L. Zulita, Albert Neil L. Mentopa and Jeffrey D. Alvarado.
Engr. Agurob said the passers’ performance in the exams showed that they are competent. The achievement, he added, reflects the quality of curriculum and faculty in the AT program of the university.
“It’s quite remarkable also that the second set of passers were assessed by the training center of an automotive company,” he added. (Walter I. Balane/BukSU Information and Publication Service)
