MALAYBALAY CITY (24 May) The Asia Pacific Journal of Social and Behavioral Sciences, formerly Bukidnon State University Research Journal, is now online in response to the Commission on Higher Education’s Journal Incentives Program (JIP), Dr. Beverly Bicar, BukSU research director said.

Dr. Bicar said the latest issue, Volume 14 – 2017, was published via Online Journal System (OJS). Previously published researches as far back as 2012 were also uploaded as of January 2018 on the OJS site, http://research.buksu.edu.ph/index.php/APJSBS.

In an interview, she said they are also preparing for the publication of Volume 15 by mid-year.

Online Journal System (OJS) also known as Open Journal System (OJS) is a digital platform used in online journal publication that reflects the editorial process of the journal. OJS has features that link the articles to indexing services such as Google Scholar.

Dr. Bicar said it is advantageous to go online, with more visibility and access, the potential for the citation of articles is higher.

According to its mission, the APJSBS aims to provide an avenue for researches exhibiting emergent breakthroughs in the different disciplines of social and behavioral sciences.

BukSU has changed the name of its research journal beginning in its 2015 edition. According to the website, even as far back as 2013, the editorial board and researchers have considered the change due to the changing scenario of research publications in the Philippines. It has increased the composition of the editorial board and taken out the seal of the university so that it can encompass the articles that would be submitted from the different parts of the world.

APJSBS is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that aims to provide an avenue for researchers exhibiting emergent breakthroughs in the different disciplines of social and behavioral sciences.

The journal publishes research articles focusing on economics, financing, governance and management of higher education; human resource supply and demand; institutional accreditation/quality assurance studies; institution-building studies and research utilization studies. It also welcomes the publication of papers related to education, science, and health, ecology, and environment; socio-economic, political and cultural studies as well as humanities and communication.
