MALAYBALAY CITY (April 26) There are eight graduates of Bukidnon State University who passed the 2017 Bar examinations, according to an announcement by the BukSU College of Law as of April 26, based on the results released by the Supreme Court on Thursday.
The new lawyers from BukSU were identified as Al Philip B. Agad, Eduardo M. Anerdez Jr, Maricel D. Arthur, Jenelyn C. Dagatan-Rodicol, Daniel Kien T. Gaudiel Jr, Marla A. Soliven, Francis Jovilou E. Visitacion and Kim Carlo F. Tangian.
Lawyer Gerardo Murillo, dean of the BukSU College of Law, said BukSU’s over-all performance is satisfactory, with its 22.85 percent passing rate.
Seven of the 21 first takers from BukSU have passed while only one of the 14 re-takers made it. BukSU has a 33.33 percentage passing rate for first time takers. The national passing rate this year is 25.55 percent.
Atty. Murillo said this performance is better than last year’s passing percentage. Last year, 12 graduates from BukSU also passed the bar exams.
BukSU is the only institution in Bukidnon offering Bachelor of Laws degree, which it opened in 2002.
A total of 1,724 passed out of the 6,748 who took last year’s bar exams, or a passing rate of 25.5 percent.
Bar examinees took a total of eight subjects for four consecutive Sundays in November at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), according to the Supreme Court website. The subjects covered were political law, labor law, civil law, taxation, mercantile law, criminal law, remedial law and legal and judicial ethics. (Walter I.
