Fifty campus Administrative Aides I from 16 campuses of Bukidnon State University (BukSU) completed seven basic skills training modules conducted by the university’s General Services Unit (GSU) from May to October 2026.
The program covered painting, landscaping, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electrical works and welding. It provided participants with practical exercises and demonstrations to help them handle routine maintenance and minor facility repairs on their respective campuses.
The Satellite Campuses Management Office (SCMO) organized the initiative to standardize maintenance services across the university’s campuses. It also aims to improve resource use and allow personnel to respond to facility concerns without delays caused by the need to seek outside technical assistance for minor repairs.
The modules covered basic maintenance tasks that campus administrative aides may encounter in their daily assignments. The skills are intended to help personnel address routine facility concerns and support the maintenance of university buildings and other campus infrastructure.
“Although you may not always be at the forefront of direct client engagement, your behind-the-scenes work is vital to serving stakeholders through the upkeep and maintenance of university facilities,” said Dante S. Victoria, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance.
Dr. Albert A. Villanca, director of the Satellite Campuses Management Office (SCMO), said the participants’ responsibilities contribute to the university’s mission through campus development and service to the communities served by BukSU.
Human Resource Management Unit Director Dr. Rea Rita R. Muege urged the participants to apply their newly acquired skills to address facility maintenance needs on their respective campuses.
According to SCMO, the initiative provides campus administrative aides with training in multiple trades that are relevant to routine maintenance work. Its implementation also supports the university’s efforts to establish consistent maintenance practices across its campus network. (Ronnel M.
