Bukidnon State University (BukSU) Alubijid Campus held a wellness session on Octobe 7, 2026, to promote employee mental health through discussions on psychological well-being, self-care and workplace conditions.
Campus Head Dr. Eric Matthew L. Senerpida said the campus prioritizes the mental health of its faculty and staff. He called for a supportive work environment that recognizes mental and emotional wellness as part of employee well-being.
The activity began with the administration of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Worker Well-Being Questionnaire. The assessment covered participants’ work experiences, workplace environment and culture, physical and mental health, and personal lives outside work.
Dr. Xyle Fe Verbal, director of BukSU Cares, facilitated a wellness talk and sharing session on mindfulness and awareness of one’s physical needs. She encouraged participants to focus on their present activities rather than allow their minds to dwell on other concerns.
Ms. Maria Michaela Q. Jamora, RPsy, also served as a speaker during the session. She contributed to discussions on employee wellness and mental health, with attention to psychological well-being and self-care among faculty and staff.
The session encouraged participants to recognize their physical and emotional needs and consider mindfulness in their daily routines. The activity formed part of BukSU Alubijid Campus’s efforts to promote employee well-being and a supportive workplace. (Angelica P. Aldovino, faculty member, BukSU Alubijid)
