BukSU undergoes DBM review of budget utilization and funded projects

Bukidnon State University (BukSU) recorded a 48.66% budget utilization rate in obligations against allotments as of midyear fiscal year 2026, according to the Department of Budget and Management Region X (DBM-X) during a performance review at the university on October 12, 2026.

The review, led by DBM-X Regional Director Nonito H. Dela Cruz, covered the university’s financial and physical performance under the Onsite Mid-Year Performance Dialogue (MYPD) and Capital Outlay Project Monitoring.

The agency commended BukSU for its reported budget utilization rate and reviewed the implementation status of government-funded programs and projects. The dialogue also covered operational bottlenecks and possible measures to improve the use of public funds.

BukSU President Joy M. Mirasol said fiscal management should translate into outcomes that benefit students and communities.

“More than meeting fiscal targets, our responsibility is to ensure that every public investment translates into better learning environments, improved services, and greater opportunities for our students and communities,” President Mirasol said.

The performance dialogue provided a venue for the university and DBM-X to examine financial allocations alongside the physical progress of funded initiatives. The review covered project implementation and the use of government resources in university operations.

As part of the monitoring activity, the DBM-X delegation visited the Kitanglad and Maagnaw Learning Spaces at the College of Public Administration Building, the BukSU Center for Opportunities, Resilience and Engagement (CORE), and the Kaamulan Lecture Theater at the EduHub Main Campus.

The site visits allowed the delegation to examine facilities supported by infrastructure investments and assess their role in instruction, student development and university operations.

The monitoring activity covered both financial performance and the status of infrastructure projects, which are subject to government budget and implementation requirements.

The review also addressed the university’s responsibility to account for public expenditures and implement funded projects in accordance with their intended purposes.
