Bendrey Nathaniel T. Delector, a Senior Kindergarten student at the Elementary Laboratory School (ELS), has been awarded a Silver Award in the 2026 Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition (KIMC) held virtually on March 21- 27, 2026.

Delector is among the 2,382 Filipino students to receive nationwide recognition this year, standing out from a pool of more than 10,400 local participants.

The Association Kangourou sans Frontières organized the Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition. It is recognized as one of the largest mathematical events globally, attracting more than 6 million participants from over 100 countries annually.

Unlike traditional examinations, the competition focuses on non-routine problem solving to challenge standard thinking, logical reasoning and creative application of math concepts, and early engagement to foster a long-term appreciation for the subject.

“Bendrey’s success brings pride to the ELS community and serves as an inspiration to fellow learners,” the school stated on their Facebook page, celebrating the milestone for the Senior Kindergarten department. (With information from BukSU ELS)
