






Dr. Christine Joy B. Cainday, a faculty member of Bukidnon State University (BukSU) College of Nursing, was awarded the Best Paper Award at the 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Solutions in Engineering, Science, Health, Education, and Technology, held at Isabela State University on September 23–25, 2026.
Dr. Cainday earned the honor for her study, “Delivery of Family Planning Information, Education, Communication Materials for Indigenous Peoples in the Barangay Health Center: A Sequential Explanatory Mixed-Methods Study.”
The award-winning research focuses on improving healthcare access for Indigenous communities by evaluating how barangay health centers deliver culturally responsive family planning materials.
BukSU administration praised the recognition as a reflection of the university’s commitment to community-focused research and academic extension.
“This recognition is a testament to Dr. Cainday’s commitment to research excellence, innovation, and community-responsive healthcare, while also reflecting Bukidnon State University’s continuing pursuit of excellence in research and extension,” the College of Nursing posted in the official Facebook page.
