Organized by the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) through its student-led Community Broadcasters’ Society, the Gandingan Awards is the only student organization-led and university-based media recognition program in the Philippines. It highlights media content that addresses development issues and community engagement.
This year’s theme, “Tagahabi ng Kasaysayan Para sa Bayan,” centers on media’s role in shaping and preserving historical narratives that contribute to national development.
According to the event organizers, more than 200 entries were submitted for evaluation this year. The selection process is designed to identify programs that highlight the relevance of history in shaping present-day societal issues.
Winners will be announced on April 26, 2025, at the University of the Philippines Los Baños.
