MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS) Students and parents who cannot present proof of full vaccination may show a negative RT-PCR (Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) test result upon entry in the Main Campus of Bukidnon State University to attend the 88th Commencement Exercises set from June 21-24, 2022, according to a memorandum issued by the Office of the President.
Memo No. 121 s.2022 addressed to university officials on Friday, June 17, 2022 highlighted this update in the health and safety requirements upon entry in BukSU for the commencement exercises.
“The health and safety of our stakeholders is a priority during the Commencement Exercises of the university, “according to the memo. The negative test result may be presented in lieu of a vaccination card.
The university administration stressed that the test result should be issued and secured from a government-accredited testing center within 3-days prior to the date of the commencement exercises.
The university has issued the update to ensure that graduates and their parents are well-informed and adherent to all protocols related to the conduct of in-person commencement exercises.
According to an earlier memo issued on May 30, 2022, participation in the in-person rites is voluntary as only fully vaccinated students and parents are allowed entry. The health and safety office has required observance of minimum public health standards such as wearing of face masks at all times, 1.5 meters physical distancing, and bringing of personal hygiene kits, among others.
For the first time after the March 2020 lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the university has staged college-based in-person graduation exercises in its main and satellite campuses. (Office of the President – Information and Publication Services)
