Four media programs produced by Bukidnon State University (BukSU) have been nominated at the 19th UP ComBroad Soc Gandingan Awards.
Two episodes of Pag-ambitay Daw Ag Kaulian, Share to Heal were nominated in the Most Development-Oriented FM Program category.
DXBU’s live coverage of the 2024 Kaamulan Festival also earned a nomination, competing in the Most Participative Program category.
In addition to the radio programs, BukSU Dokyu, a digital documentary series published on the university’s official Facebook page, received a nomination for Most Development-Oriented Youth Program.
Organized by the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) through its student-led Community Broadcasters’ Society, the Gandingan Awards is the only student organization-led and university-based media recognition program in the Philippines. It highlights media content that addresses development issues and community engagement.
This year’s theme, “Tagahabi ng Kasaysayan Para sa Bayan,” centers on media’s role in shaping and preserving historical narratives that contribute to national development.
According to the event organizers, more than 200 entries were submitted for evaluation this year. The selection process is designed to identify programs that highlight the relevance of history in shaping present-day societal issues.
Winners will be announced on April 26, 2025, at the University of the Philippines Los Baños.
BukSU was previously recognized at the 2024 Gandingan Awards, receiving the Most Development-Oriented FM Program award for Share to Heal and the Most Participatory Program award for Kag-Lambaga. (BukSU-Information Unit)
