Bukidnon State University, January 28, 2025 – The College of Technologies (COT) and College of Education (COE) hosted the highly anticipated Acquaintance Party, The Olympian Gala: An Evening of Divine Festivity. Held at the BukSU Gymnasium, the venue was transformed into a celestial realm where students embodied gods and goddesses, fostering an atmosphere of elegance, excitement, and fellowship.
The evening began with the formal introduction of the Student Body Organization (SBO) officers from both colleges, symbolizing the collaboration that brought the event to life. Following this was the preliminaries of the program, setting a solemn and reflective tone before the grand festivities commenced. Hosts Mr. James Daniel Genuino (COT-SBO) and Mr. Jhasper Piquero (COE-SBO) energized the crowd as they guided the event. Vice Governor of COE SBO, Ms. Maria Sheinah Salvo, delivered the opening remarks, expressing gratitude to all involved. Guest speakers included Dr. Marilou O. Espina, Dean of COT, and Dr. Lincoln V. Tan, Vice President of Cultural Arts, Sports, and Student Services, who recognized the efforts of faculty, organizers, and attendees.
Excitement built as the first raffle draw was introduced, followed by the icebreaker, Athena’s Disciple, facilitated by Mr. Joseph Ginolos and Ms. Sinead Jalacdon. Dr. Ann Sheila Del Rosario, Dean of COE, then delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing unity and engagement. The singing competition was a highlight, judged by esteemed professionals. Mr. Andrei Delig (COE) opened with a powerful performance, followed by Ms. Cyril Monique Turtosa (COT) with an emotional rendition of “A Million Dreams.” Before the final act, another icebreaker, ‘Medusa’s Gaze,’ brought laughter and enthusiasm. Ms. Quezzara Mei Yagahon (COE) concluded the contest with a stirring performance of “Rise Up.” A mesmerizing dance intermission followed. More raffle prizes were awarded, and judges and guest speakers were honored with certificates of recognition.
The Walk of Fame showcased students in divine costumes inspired by ancient gods and goddesses, turning the venue into a grand pantheon. Winners were announced: Champion – Mr. Andrei Delig (COE) 1st Runner-Up – Ms. Quezzara Mei Yagahon (COE) 2nd Runner-Up – Ms. Cyril Monique Turtosa (COT) The crowning moment recognized: King of Gods – Mr. John Willian Turtosa Queen of Gods – Ms. April Dane Galambo As the event concluded, a highlight reel and teaser video played, sparking smiles and cheers. Closing remarks were delivered by Mr. Jhon Lester Ybañez, COT SBO Governor, emphasizing strengthened ties between COT and COE.
