Bukidnon State University (BukSU) awarded the outstanding academic accomplishments of 1,520 university scholars and 789 dean’s listers during the Recognition of Academic Excellence that took place in the University Gymnasium with the theme, “SMART BUKSU Students: Cultivating Excellence through Innovative and Ethical Leadership.” on October 16, 2024, recognizing a total of 2,309 exemplary students during the second semester of the A.Y. 2023-2024.
The College of Business recognized 534 scholars and 198 dean’s listers; the College of Education with 433 scholars and 128 dean’s listers. The College of Arts and Sciences honored 296 scholars and 240 dean’s listers, while the College of Technologies acknowledged 141 scholars and 105 dean’s listers. The College of Nursing celebrated 64 scholars and 71 dean’s listers; the College of Public Administration and Governance with 52 scholars and 47 dean’s listers.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Hazel Jean M. Abejuela, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who was represented by Dr. Lalevie C. Lubos, Dean of the College of Public Administration and Governance. Dr. Lubos also delivered the President’s message and extended the heartfelt congratulations of Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, University President, emphasizing the importance of humility and resilience in the face of adversity.
Mr. Giovanni Jan N. Sanchez, RN, MAN, an alumnus of BukSU Nursing, delivered an inspiring address to the audience. He noted, “Together, we can create a future where innovation and ethical leadership are the cornerstone of our society, where progress is driven by purpose, and where the pursuit of excellence is a shared journey that benefits us all.” He encouraged students to relentlessly pursue knowledge with integrity, urging them to seize opportunities, think creatively, lead with ethics, and use their education as a force for positive change, leaving a lasting legacy.
