MALAYBALAY CITY – Mr. Rodulfo S. Oco Jr. M.T.E., a faculty member, an alumnus of BukSU Automotive Technology, and a proud member of the Higaonon tribe in Bukidnon, successfully finished his Master’s degree in Technician Education majoring in Automotive Technology at Cebu Technological University (CTU).
The graduation ceremony was held at the Grand Ballroom, Waterfront Hotel, Lahug Cebu Cityon June 3, 2023. His research study entitled: Development of Automotive Safety and Security System: Trainer Model (ASSeS) was identified as a novel.
He extended his heartfelt appreciation to his mentor and his external adviser, Inv. Rene M. Chavez, Ph.D., and Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, an internal thesis adviser, and to all the people behind his success.
Mr. Oco has made history as the first alumnus of Bukidnon State University’s Automotive Technology program to complete a Master’s degree in Technician Education. His remarkable journey is a testament to the potential of individuals from diverse backgrounds who are determined to break barriers and make a lasting impact in their chosen field.
Mr. Oco’s educational journey began at BukSU, where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology. With a passion for automobiles and a thirst for knowledge, he excelled in his studies and demonstrated exceptional skills in automotive mechanics. Throughout his undergraduate years, he consistently proved himself as a committed student and showcased remarkable talent in his field of study.
After completing his Bachelor’s degree, Mr. Oco’s aspirations led him to pursue higher education. This step was a significant milestone not only for him, but also for the Higaonon tribe and the Automotive Technology program at BukSU.
Mr. Oco’s achievement of obtaining a Master’s degree in Technician Education was a source of great pride for the Higaonon Tribe Community. By pursuing higher education, he has become a role model for aspiring individuals from indigenous communities who seek to break stereotypes and succeed in their chosen fields. His journey underscored the importance of embracing education as a means of empowerment and the ability of individuals to transcend societal barriers and achieve their goals.
