MALAYBALAY CITY – The College of Nursing head the call to address the issues in Universal Health Coverage as they joined the Association of the Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing (ADPCN) 2023 Summer Conference with the theme “Promoting Equity and Diversity in Nursing Education: Towards Universal Health Care” at the Grand Caprice, Limketkai Center, Cagayan De Oro City on May 9-10, 2023
Bukidnon State University College of Nursing headed by the former Dean now the Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovation, Dr. Carina Joane V. Barroso and CON new Dean, Dr. Algerica T. Cuenco with its faculty workforce Mariz Rochelle C. Sedon, Beulah Joy K. Damasco, and Aubrey S. Edio participated in the said event.
The shifting socio-demographic and socioeconomic factors that affect people’s health, which has had a significant impact on nursing education’s ability to address issues like equity and diversity in connection to Universal Health Care were focused on the conference.
Dr. Maria Algerica T. Cuenco, Dean of the College of Nursing said that meeting the different deans of State Universities and Colleges and discussing strategies to expound faculty and student capacity in embracing equality and diversity was a tremendous opportunity.
Dr. Elsie A. Tee, Chairman of Philippine Board of Nursing, Carmelita C. Divinagracia, Elizabeth C. Lagrito, Zenaida C. Gagno, Marylou B. Ong, Merle L. Salvani and Leah Primitiva S.
