Legal Bases
- The Magna Carta of Women (MCW) or Republic Act No. 9710, enacted in September 2009
- CEDAW ( Convention to Eliminate all forms of Discrimination against Women) and BPFA ( Beijing Platform for Action) , and comprises the major statutory guidelines that all Responsible Agencies are expected to pursue and implement, guided principally by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW)
- MCW Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), which were approved in March 2010, identify the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)
- CHED memorandum Order No.01, 2015 ( Establishing the policies and Guidelines on GAD in the CHED and HEIs)
- PCW-NEDA- DBM Joint Circular no. 2012-01 (Guidelines for the preparation of Annual GAD Plans and Budget and Accomplishment Reports to implement MCW)
- RA 7877 (Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995)
Vision

To integrate gender perspectives in all functions of the university.
Goal
To mainstream gender equality to various processes, projects and activities of the university.
Objectives
- To develop and implement PPAs (Plans, Programs and Activities) that will promote a better GAD perspective among the students and employees of BUKSU.
- To promote gender awareness, sensitivity, and increase participation in GAD related activities among employees of BukSU through training workshops and seminars.
- To improve the academic and professional skills and capabilities of employees in dealing gender issues.
- To empower the university and identified communities to promote and achieve the core of Gender Equality through Gender Responsive Extension Program (GREP) and Gender Responsive Research Program (GRP).
- To integrate gender-responsiveness, gender equitability, gender issues in curriculum and instruction.
- To promote the use of Gender Fair Language in speech and written texts in all contexts in the university.
- To produce and disseminate information, education and communication materials on gender-related issues and concerns.
Services
- Provide technical assistance on GAD mainstreaming and related concerns
- Conduct gender sensitivity training / Basic GAD orientation
- Conduct seminar-workshop on GAD mainstreaming planning and budgeting, gender analysis, and tools such as Harmonized GAD Guidelines (HGDG), Gender Mainstreaming, Evaluation Framework (GMEF), and others
- Review the GAD plan and budget and GAD Accomplishment Report of the Units and Colleges
- Conduct capacity building for personnel and students in different GAD mainstreaming initiatives as well as laws.
- Assist in strengthening linkage and network among partner agencies and other GAD advocates
