History
Bukidnon State University Talakag Campus, formerly the Talakag Extension Campus, was established in June 2005 through Board Resolution No. 1072 S.2005 to provide affordable and quality tertiary education for local high school graduates. Initially offering Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and Bachelor of Arts in Economics (later converted to BSBA), the campus started with 97 pioneering students. The first batch graduated in April 2009, with 11 earning BSIT degrees and 10 obtaining BSBA degrees. In the same year, the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) program was introduced, graduating its first batch in 2013. The campus also achieved an 86% passing rate for the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
Due to the rising demand, additional programs like the Bachelor of Public Administration were offered in 2013. The school faced an initial closure plan following CHED’s directive in 2015, but a revised order in 2018 allowed the transition of some BukSU External Study Centers into Satellite Campuses. This development officially secured the campus’s status as BukSU Talakag Satellite Campus, continuing its mission to provide accessible college education in the Bukidnon area.
