SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. recommends BukSU for certificate maintenance to ISO 9001:2015

The announcement was delivered during an exit conference on August 20, 2026, wrapping up two days of intensive evaluation at the BukSU Mini Theater.

Bukidnon State University (BukSU) has passed its ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) 2nd Surveillance Audit, securing an official recommendation to maintain its international quality certification. The announcement was delivered during an exit conference on August 20, 2026, wrapping up two days of intensive evaluation at the BukSU Mini Theater.

Conducted by external certifying body SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc., led by auditors Ms. Maria Janica Verlaine V. Despuig and Mr. Richard S. Bacomo, BukSU yielded a flawless audit record of zero nonconformities.

Achieving zero nonconformities confirmed that the university’s processes strictly align with global standards without any minor or critical operational gaps.

In addition to the clean nonconformity record, auditors identified 7 Positive Findings, noting that BukSU consistently outperforms its internal quality targets. Most notably, student customer satisfaction ratings reached above 90% (achieving Very Satisfied and Outstanding), well surpassing the university’s target threshold of 80%. Strong risk management practices within international mobility programs were also recognized.

SOCOTEC outlined 4 Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs), including evaluating higher target thresholds for customer satisfaction and refining internal audit documentation traceability, along with 5 Observations for internal review.

BukSU President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol commended the SOCOTEC auditors, the Quality Assurance Unit, and the entire SMART BukSU Workforce for their dedication throughout the audit process.

“Our QMS is like a seed that we planted nine years ago. We have watered it through our policies, nurtured it through our processes, and allowed it to grow through continuous improvement,” Dr. Mirasol stated. She encouraged the university community to embody the acronym GROW: BukSU for Growth, Resilience, Openness, and Workmanship. (BukSU – Information Unit)
