
Zenas B. Paloma, R.N., Ph D., of Bukidnon State University (BukSU) College of Nursing, received the Publication Commendation Award during the Philippine International Nursing Summit (PINS) 2026, held on June 25, 2026, at the National University – Mall of Asia Campus, Pasay City.
The Global Society conferred the recognition for Philippine Nurse Researchers, Inc. (GSPNRI) in partnership with the Pacific Nursing Service Organization (PNSO) and the Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network (FIND Network), a Filipino professional organization based in Sydney, Australia, dedicated to connecting, recognizing, and advancing Filipino nurses around the world. The FIND Network is led by its Executive Director, Dr. Jerome Babate.
Paloma was recognized for publishing seven (7) scholarly articles in international peer-reviewed journals between January and May 2026. His publications covered nursing education, emergency nursing, perioperative nursing, nursing workforce, leadership, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence in nursing education.
“Research is a way nurses continue to learn beyond the classroom and beyond the bedside. In nursing education, continuing learning is not optional; it is part of our responsibility to improve how we teach, practice, and serve,” Dr. Paloma said.
This commendation celebrates Paloma’s ongoing impact on nursing scholarship and underlines BukSU’s focus on high-impact research, international teamwork, and innovation. Beyond enhancing the global standing of Philippine nursing research, his work fulfills the University’s vision of advancing healthcare, education, and practice in line with global sustainability goals.
