The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has granted a Certificate of Program Compliance to the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management program of Bukidnon State University’s Lantapan Campus.
The certificate, issued by CHED Region X, confirms that the program complies with prescribed requirements. The conferment followed consultations among CHED Region X, Bukidnon State University and the Lantapan local government unit.
As part of the compliance process, the CHED Region X Regional Quality Assessment Team conducted an on-site evaluation at the Lantapan Campus in October last year to review the program’s curriculum, faculty qualifications, facilities and institutional capacity to deliver higher education.
“This milestone marks a significant step in BukSU Lantapan Campus’ pursuit of academic excellence in tourism management, strengthening its role in developing globally competitive professionals dedicated to service and innovation,” said BukSU Lantapan Campus head Dr. Shella Amor C. Monsanto.
The Tourism Management program is the flagship offering of BukSU’s Lantapan Campus, which was inaugurated in August 2024, as the university’s 16th satellite campus. The campus opened with an initial enrollment of 150 students for the first semester of academic year 2024-2025.
“The issuance of the COPC by CHED affirms that BukSU’s BS Tourism Management program meets national quality standards, ensuring that students in Lantapan can access a recognized and credible degree program right in their community—opening doors to greater opportunities, employability, and regional development,” said Dr. Albert A. Villanca, Director for Satellite Campuses Management Office.
With the issuance of the Certificate of Program Compliance to the Lantapan Campus, all academic programs offered across BukSU’s 16 satellite campuses in Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental are now recognized by the Commission on Higher Education as compliant with its prescribed standards.
